System operators use star/delta changeover switches to reduce the starting currents when starting up large AC motors of a specific size directly on the grid. Our tailored didactics module makes the operating principle easy to understand in a practical way.
Learn in a practical way to change the connection type of large AC motors

When starting up large AC motors directly on the grid, a high starting current is temporarily generated for the relevant systems. This can cause fuses to trip and thus lead to unwanted production downtime. In order to avoid this, operators use star/delta changeover switches to adapt the connection type of their AC asynchronous motor.
We have developed the didactics module on star/delta changeover switches to help prospective specialists to better understand these relationships. As part of subject area 8 "Selecting and integrating drives," it imparts the required basic knowledge in a clear and comprehensible manner. The teaching aid demonstrates in a practical way how to switch the start-up procedure for an AC motor from normal operation with "delta connection" to start-up mode in "star connection" and how to switch it back again.
Real, visible and safely installed equipment from proven drive technology support understanding. Prospective electronics professionals (MT, EBT, EMA, EAT, EAFT, EGS) experience the practice behind the theory in a clear and simple way.
